Namton’s House Bar had a special guest Chef in their kitchen, Chef Dustin Joseph! El Chef Dustin is behind Cafecito in Pai and former Chef at Reverie Siam and Mercato. All the meals had a craft beer pairing from Young Master, a brewery from Hong Kong. The theme at Namton’s event was based on Chinese New Year celebrations that were going on during the week. It’s was only for one night, and I’m happy I did not miss out!
Food
Yuzu Fried Chicken or YFC was a classic Kentucky style Fried Chicken-inspired dish. Intensely crispy every bite was crunchy and packed with flavors. Served with a bit of kaffir lime chip and Yuzu sour cream. This chicken went flawlessly with the excellent selection they were offering at Namton’s House Bar. If you weren’t sure what beer to get, the menu had a list of what beer would pair well with your dish.
Peking Duck Sliders! Steamed Bao Buns, beetroot pickled ginger, hoisin kewpie, and duck crackling! These were incredible! A symphony of textures from soft boa bun to crispy duck crackling. I’m in heaven!! Duck is usually something I don’t look forward to eating. Only because there have been many instances when I’ve been served duck and the meat was just too tough. I believe Chef Dustin Joseph outdid himself with beautiful sliders. I hope it some that I will be to have again in the future and I also wish to see more dinner and beer pairing at Namton’s House Bar in the future.
