2017 is over! However, its been a great year of food some new and some old have developed amazing new menus. Every year Go2AskAnne likes to pick the restaurants in Chiang Mai that have impressed us the most. Since s the first year we are doing our picks in English we are going to include a couple of restaurants that were featured in the past. So here our picks for 2017!

Wawee Bistro: Andrews Kitchen

From Homemade Market darling to opening the first ever Wawee Bistro! Andrews Kitchen has had everyone falling in love with his food especially his breakfast dishes.  Located not too far from Thapae Gate Wawee Bistro has had everyone talking from tourists to locals.

The Flying Pig

From southwestern pork ribs to New Zealand Lamb Cutlets with Chipotle Chicken Skewers The Flying Pig is a bbq paradise. Grilled on an open flame everything that comes out off this grill is savory tender and moist.

The Vikings Jungles

Nowadays there is a burger restaurant it is not hard to find a decent burger. What makes Vikings Jungle stand apart from the rest is not only his massive creations but the bread he uses. It is sponge style bun that just soaks up all the juices dripping off the burger making it a delectable treat all the way to the last bite!

Triplets

Triplets is a restaurant designed with the family in mind, and that is more than evident when you see the kids running around the big bamboo tree house. However, just because its family orientated does not mean they do not have culinary attributes to please your pallets. The lamb stew, Navarin d’angeau is tender, savory and gratifying to the last bite, while the cold plate provides a smorgasbord of mediterranean treats.

The craft beer scene is exploding in Chiang Mai! It seems that a new bar is opening every month. What sets Namton’s House Bar is not only their beautiful surroundings and good music but the fact they are always either rotating the beer menu and hosting “Tap Takeovers” from breweries from around the world makes them one of “must go to” stops for beer lovers.

The House Lounge is the newest addition to The House by Ginger. The House Lounge is what we have to call a supremely thought concept and executed with a style and elegance that’s built to impress.

I’m Happy

I’m Happy is one of the newest additions to the craft beer scene. From brewing their brand to carrying international brands, I’m Happy has a beer menu that is more than impressive and just as impressive as their menu! From dry-aged steaks to the well-built burgers their food compliments the beer perfectly.

Yuu Dai Premium Yakiniku

One of the best buffets in Chiang Mai. It is not cheap, but the quality is sure worth it! The prices start at 590 baht to 890 baht to the most expensive one 1290 baht. Make sure to take a look at the menu before you order to see what suits your taste but anything you choose will be quality that you can be sure.

Islamic style food, I have to say almost everything on this menu is delicious! The spicy soup had me drooling and wanting for more and everything we picked off the menu was just as good if not better.

Khao

Khao’s concept is applying “fine dining” twist on classic Thai recipes, and it has exceeded expectations. Luxury Resorts and high-end hotels usually dull the flavors of native dishes especially when it comes to the level of herbs and spices to make it more “accessible” to foreigners. Four Seasons, on the other hand, has chosen to embrace it. The restaurant overlooks the onsite patty fields and at night as the sun sets it is stunning.
